Challenge
Delivering Useful Content Inside the Conversation Itself
The client wanted a chatbot that could bring relevant content to users during a conversation, inside the messaging platforms they were already using. The experience needed to feel natural — users should be able to ask for content and receive it in context, without being redirected elsewhere or learning a new interface.
Beyond content retrieval, the same approach opened a path for lightweight employee training delivered entirely through chat. That meant the solution also needed administrative controls for managing what content was delivered, when, and to whom — along with a way to measure whether users were actually engaging with it.
Solution
Building a Messenger-Native Content and Microlearning Experience
Alverden built a chatbot that interprets user requests in natural language and returns relevant content directly within the conversation. Users interact with it the same way they would message a colleague — no separate search interface, no context switching.
The solution was designed to work across multiple messaging platforms, including Slack, Skype, and Facebook Messenger. That meant teams and learners could access content through whichever tool their organisation already relied on, without requiring a platform migration.
An administrative layer gave content teams control over what was available and how it was delivered. Administrators could upload and edit text, image, and video content, schedule delivery in small portions aligned to a training timeline, run short quizzes to reinforce learning, and review engagement data to understand how users were interacting with the material.
Capabilities
What We Delivered
Four core capabilities that defined the chatbot and shaped the content delivery experience.
Conversational Content Delivery
Users request content in natural language and receive relevant responses directly in chat. The chatbot interprets requests and returns targeted results without requiring users to switch to a separate app or search interface.
Cross-Messenger Compatibility
The experience works across multiple messaging platforms — including Slack, Skype, and Facebook Messenger — rather than being tied to a single environment. Users engage with content through the tools they already use daily.
Microlearning Scheduling and Quizzes
Content can be delivered in small portions on a defined schedule, keeping learning incremental and manageable. Short quizzes can be embedded to reinforce material and check retention without interrupting the conversation flow.
Engagement Tracking and Content Control
Administrators can upload and edit text, image, and video content through a management layer and review how users interact with delivered material. Usage data supports ongoing adjustments to content and scheduling.
Outcomes
How It Improved Learning Access and Content Delivery
The delivered chatbot gave teams a more accessible way to surface and consume content without adding new tools to their workflow. By working inside existing messengers and keeping interactions lightweight, it lowered the barrier to both content discovery and structured learning.
- Reduced the friction of discovering and consuming relevant content by bringing it directly into the conversation.
- Made learning accessible inside familiar messaging tools, without requiring users to adopt a separate platform.
- Supported lightweight training formats that fit alongside day-to-day work rather than competing with it.
- Launched for use in educational and training-oriented projects after delivery.
Tech Stack
How We Built It
